On both sides of the Pyrenees, Catalonia welcomed leading artists
of the early 20th century attracted by the Mediterranean light and colours.
Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism launched the artistic tradition of
Collioure, Ceret and Cadaques.

Henri Matisse moved to the coast in 1905 soon followed by Derain and Dufy. Reproductions of their works can be seen along the streets of the town. A half day walk
to the heights of Collioure offers wide panoramas over the coastline.
D3: Coastal walk along the Vermillion Coast
The itinerary follows the scenic footpaths on the tracks of smugglers. Creeks and beaches
offer pleasant breaks. Wine tasting in the evening in the lovely resort of Banyuls.
D4 : Céret, "Mecca of Cubism"
"Chemin Faisant", rambling in the shade of century old plane trees in the tracks
of Picasso, Braque and Soutine. Visit the Museum of Modern Art and walk on the outskirts
of Céret, capital of the cherry.
D5 : Cadaques and Cap de Creus
Walk across the Natural Parc with emblematic landscapes
source of inspiration for Salvador Dali. Lovely break in Port Lligat
close to "Casa Dali".
D6 : Figueres : "Teatre Museu Dali"
Morning visit: the famous museum and its surrealistic atmosphere.
End of the tour around lunchtime.
